Christmas Pictures 2020

JANUARY 2ND, 2021

By LANA CARBON

The year 2020 was tough on everyone. Thankfully, in our case, the hardship was relatively minor; more of an inconvenience than anything. Though we had to distance ourselves from our families (and we do miss them desperately), at least we have managed to remain healthy while living in an area with a high rate of COVID-19 spread.

It did mean that our holiday routine would look extremely different than to what we are accustomed. There were no events like Christmas by Lamplight at Black Creek Pioneer Village, Christkindl the Christmas market in Kitchener, or the Festival of Lights in Burlington. It also meant there weren't going to be any gatherings at either the Carbon or Lilies family homes this year.

In addition to the obvious disappointment this presented, it meant that there wouldn't be any Christmas recollection photo galleries this year… or so I thought.

It is a tradition that John and I get an ornament for each other every year but I didn’t think only two photos really constituted a collection, especially when I had already posted my amazing Krampus bell for Krampusnacht. However, what I didn’t realize was that we would get a few pictures from the Bonus Mommy's, that I hadn’t taken before, and that we would get some pictures from Brother Carbon, of new decorations he had purchased. Brother Carbon sent us the photos because he knows how much I love seeing the new additions to the festive season.

So, with that being said, here are my Christmas Photos of 2020.

Although I wasn’t able to take as many photos as usual, of the ones I did get, each holds special meaning… even if I didn't get to take them all myself. I want to thank Brother Carbon for sending his pictures and the Bonus Mommy for being in our small social bubble, so we could still see her for the holidays.

I hope everyone was still able to make some wonderful and lasting memories with those they love… even if it had to be at a distance.
